About Us

Carol

I first heard about the Camino de Santiago from a friend seven years ago.  Then I watched a documentary on it and decided to walk it.  I was at a transition point in my life and was open to what an experience like the Camino could teach me.  Because I didn't know anything about it, I hired a firm to arrange hotels, meals and move a bag for me.  I only walked the first part of the Camino de Norte from San Sabastian to Bilbao.  But I was hooked.  I went back 2 more times to finish the Camino de Norte... walked the Camino Ingles... and then walked the Portuguese Camino from Porto to Santiago three times.  And in between, walked the Via Francigena and the Way of San Jacopo in Italy.

Walking the Camino de Santiago is a transformational experience.  It is truly difficult to describe with words or photos and can only be explained by doing it.  There is just something about walking 40,000 steps day after day that changes everything.

Susan and I started My Camino My Way because we want to share this transformational experience with as many people that are open to it.  We look forward to assisting in any way possible.

Susan

The idea to walk the Camino de Santiago literally came to me in a dream, if you can believe it.  I had just lost my beloved mother and my heart was broken.  I knew that I needed to walk and so off I went to do the last 100KM of the Camino. I was looking for a way to grieve and I was looking for a way to get closer to God during this tender time for me. It is with a grateful heart that I can say the Camino helped heal my broken heart and I have never felt closer to God.

I have since completed the Coastal Portuguese Camino three times, the Via Francigena and the Way of San Jacopo in Italy and I will return again and again as I continue my journey toward a better mind, body and soul.  I look forward to sharing the Camino's transformational experience with you.
